Underneath the governments, markets, status, wealth, debt and power attached to money, the physical object itself is remarkably simple.
Paper.
Yet human beings build entire lives around possessing more of it.
The artwork is created from genuine uncirculated currency and individually hand-painted using premium acrylic paint, leaving fragments of the original banknotes exposed through the typography.
Portraits, engraving, colour, signatures and security details appear inside the statement itself, making the currency physically responsible for spelling out the message.
The surrounding black acrylic removes almost everything unnecessary.
No decorative distraction.
No ambiguity.
Just the statement and the thing it's talking about.
A DIFFERENT LEVEL OF PRESENTATION
Unlike the standard Cash Reserves originals, THIS IS PAPER is supplied as a complete premium slabbed collector piece.
The original artwork is presented within a custom 8.1 × 10.1 inch Public Issue insert and housed inside a substantial crystal-clear collector-grade display slab.
The rigid enclosure provides an additional level of protection while giving the piece the physical presence of an oversized authenticated collectible rather than a conventional mounted artwork.
A discreet integrated central display point is engineered into the upper section of the enclosure, allowing the complete slab to be presented directly on a wall without needing a conventional picture frame.
Alternatively, it can be displayed freestanding on a suitable collector stand.
The enclosure, insert and artwork are intended to function together as one finished presentation.
