ANTI SOCIAL takes genuine uncirculated currency and turns it into a stripped-back piece of hand-painted typography.
The artwork is created individually using premium acrylic paint, allowing selected areas of the underlying banknote to remain exposed through the lettering while the rest disappears beneath a deep black field.
Up close, the original currency reveals itself in fragments: engraving, numbers, signatures, portrait details and security patterns.
From a distance, all that remains is the statement.
ANTI SOCIAL.
The asymmetrical composition and heavy negative space give this piece a different energy from conventional currency art. It doesn't need to fill the surface to dominate it.
Part of Cash Reserves, the artwork explores what happens when one of the world's most regulated objects is deliberately altered by hand and removed from its intended function.
The currency stops being money.
It becomes material.
This is a genuine one-of-one Stanley Millz original.
There will never be a duplicate currency artwork, replica version or subsequent limited print edition of this finished design.
Once collected, the only one belongs to that collector.
The piece is supplied inside its custom Cash Reserves display insert, ready for presentation as supplied.
The frame shown in the imagery is not included and is shown only as a display example. The artwork can be easily removed from the insert for custom framing.
