LUNCH BREAK is an original mixed-media currency artwork created across three genuine US $1 bills, arranged vertically to form one continuous composition.

The piece shows a Queen’s Guard caught completely off-duty — seated, rifle resting beside him, working his way through an oversized yellow ice cream. The contrast between rigid military tradition and an ordinary, almost ridiculous moment gives the artwork its humour without losing the darker institutional edge running through the wider collection.

The figure is built directly across the three banknotes using acrylic paint, ink and mixed media, while large sections of the original dollar artwork remain visible underneath. The pyramid, eagle and engraved currency details become part of the composition rather than simply acting as a background.

The opposite side of the bills remains recognisably original, reinforcing that the artwork has been created directly onto real circulating currency rather than a printed reproduction.

Each finished artwork is individually numbered, serialised and NFC authenticated, linking the physical piece to its digital certificate of authenticity.
