HAPPY CAMPER is an original mixed-media currency artwork created across four genuine US $1 bills, arranged as one continuous panoramic composition.
The artwork depicts an abandoned VW campervan slowly being reclaimed by nature, stretched across the full width of the four banknotes. The ageing vehicle, overgrowth and dark monochrome treatment contrast against a single yellow smiley, giving the piece that slightly uneasy Millz mix of humour, nostalgia and decay.
Rather than hiding the currency completely, sections of the original notes remain visible throughout the artwork — portraits, seals, serial numbers and engraved details becoming part of the composition itself. The reverse remains largely untouched, making it immediately clear that the finished work has been created directly across four genuine banknotes.
Created using acrylic paint, ink and mixed media, each completed artwork is individually numbered, serialised and NFC authenticated, linking the physical piece to its digital certificate of authenticity.
